This naturally processed stunner hailing from Sidama, Ethiopia is  smooth and velvety with a well-rounded body. It kicks off with an intense bittersweet raw cacao and orange peel flavour, transitions to sweet blueberry jam verging on overripe mango, and finishes on a refreshing note of anise seeds - ideal for filter brewing methods like the V60 or Chemex.

Story

Just one of the few lots produced by a group of small farms in the Sidama region of Southern Ethiopia. The farms range between 3 and 12 hectares in size, and this year Buriso Amaje was assigned as their group leader. Buriso coordinated the milling and export of the coffee alongside Falcon’s coffee importer team in Addis. Basha, his wife, and two children own 3 hectares of coffee growing land near Bombe village in Bensa, Sidama. Basha grows the 74160 variety which he received from the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre. The coffee grows under the shade of native trees in a forest, and this variety is known to have very pronounced citrus and floral notes. Basha picks and processes all of his coffee himself and within his family. The coffee cherries are placed on raised beds at his family home to dry for approximately one month.
